also related: conde nast didn’t have the sense to use Mac OS X as late as 2005, opting instead for Mac OS 9. why? because they still use Quark Xpress workflows to design their rags (or so i was told by my then-client, radar).
what did that mean to me? that they were using macintosh internet explorer 5, long discontinued by both apple and microsoft—a browser radar didn’t even support.
so ultimately, it meant that nobody in the conde nast stables commented on radar online because they couldn’t see it. massive, massive loss of PR.
